I will stamp all over 'legitimate boxer' Jake Paul - Anthony Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

Anthony Joshua will face Jake Paul in an eight-bout match which will be streamed in real-time on Netflix.

Briton Anthony Joshua declared he will "stamp all over" Jake Paul and "defeat" his opponent as the two fighters met personally to publicize the upcoming boxing match.

Ex two-time world heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua battles social media star turned fighter Paul - in what is, by the numbers, a massive uneven pairing - at Miami's venue on 19 December.

Fighter's Mentality

"I'm going to break his face and break his body up. I aim to demonstrate my superiority," Joshua, 35 years old, stated.

"I plan to overwhelm him. That's how fighters think.

"I will genuinely try to injure him. That's what I want to do."

Respectful Exchange

Despite those words, a calm Joshua and social media star Jake Paul - usually recognized for his showmanship - were respectful and maintained decorum with each other.

Paul instead attacked former Joshua's rival Francis Ngannou and called him "not serious" after the Cameroonian turned down a fight offer.

Taking Aim at Fury

Joshua, meanwhile, criticized UK rival Fury - and declined a £1m bet 'Tyson Fury' states he will put on a Paul win.

"[Paul] is superior to Tyson Fury - he's present here," Joshua commented.

"I acknowledge that."

Legitimate Fighter

In spite of saying he intends to punish Paul, Anthony Joshua chose not to talk badly about his rival's fighting skills.

"Jake is a legitimate boxer," he remarked.

Jake Paul's History

Jake Paul - who originally gained popularity on the television network - has mainly fought mixed martial artists or faded names since becoming pro.

He was defeated by British fighter Fury in last year.

Commercial Success

Still, the novice is still one of the sport's greatest commercial attractions, consistently making massive paydays.

Prediction and Confidence

The 28 year old predicted a stoppage in rounds four or five and asserted he would stop the long-awaited Joshua–Fury fight, which is allegedly under discussion for two years from now.

"The next fight will be me versus Tyson Fury next year," Paul said.

Physical Disparity

As both boxers met for the usual stare-down, with their physical disparity clearly visible, it drove home just how improbable this entire matchup is - and how astonishing it is that the fight is actually happening.
